Kevin Sommerville Joins Scott Laboratories as Brewing Specialist

Pickering, ON: Scott Laboratories is very excited to announce the hiring of Kevin Somerville in the role of Brewing Specialist.

“Kevin is the perfect fit for our company and for our customers!” notes Scott Laboratories General Manager Steve Clattenburg. “He signifies our commitment to the brewing industry that we are here to not only offer them ingredients and equipment, but the technical support and brewing expertise to help them make better beer!”

Kevin brings with him significant experience as a brewer, with former posts at Alley Kat Brewing (Alberta), Taps Brewing Company (Ontario) and most recently as founder, part-owner and brewmaster at Niagara’s Oast House Brewery. He has been educated at Niagara College, Siebel Institute and at the World Brewing Academy, graduating with his International Diploma in Brewing Technology. Kevin will continue to drive improvement within Canada’s brewing industry in his teaching role at Niagara College’s Brewing program.

Scott Laboratories has a long history supplying products and technical support into Canada’s wine, cider, distilling and brewing industries. At current, their brewing portfolio includes DanStar (Lallemand) dry yeast, Siebel liquid yeast, AB Vickers processing aids along with filtration equipment and media.

Clattenburg notes that the company expects significant additions to the company’s brewing portfolio in the months to come.
