Montréal, Canada, February 1, 2012 – Winemakers can now have their winemaking choices in the palm of their hands!
Lallemand is pleased to announce the launch of a new application for iPhones – Lallemand Wine. This app is an easy-to-use tool to select the yeast, bacteria, nutrients, specialty inactivated yeast and enzymes for winemaking, and features a comprehensive catalogue of Lallemand winemaking products available in North America. Yeast, malolactic bacteria, nutrients and protectors, as well as SIY, are all described in detail to help winemakers select the best product choices for their winemaking conditions and desired wine style.
A search engine is also included that will help winemakers narrow down the products based on such specific parameters as potential alcohol, nutrient status, varietal, etc. The application also includes conversion tables – always useful to the winemaker.
The first tool in the application is the malolactic fermentation feasibility table, which will help winemakers determine if their wine is suitable for MLF. Based on the feasibility score, the tool offers advice for conducting MLF as smoothly as possible. Several more tools will be developed as updates become available.
