Isolated by the University of Rovira i Virgili in Spain from the Priorat region.

Notable for its high alcohol tolerance (up to 17% v/v) with a very good implantation rate in difficult condi­tions. Ferments over a wide range of temperatures (14-32°C/57-90°F).

Lalvin Clos® was selected for its ability to enhance aromatic complexity, structure and mouthfeel.

Good compatibility with malolactic fermentation.
