Stabifix is a finely milled Xerogel. Unlike other xerogels, Stabifix is milled through a proprietary technique to achieve maximum filterability. This allows Stabifix to effectively stabilize beer proteins and then be removed through filtration.
It is a dry product with a moisture content of about 10%. It has an internal surface area of about 400 m²/g and a pore volume of 1 to 1.2 ml/g, the majority of the pores having a diameter of more than 6 nanometers.
