Packaging – Capsules
PVC (Poly vinyl chloride) capsules
They are produced from a heat shrinkable material and are available in various diameters and lengths. PVC capsules are sent through a heat tunnel on the bottling line to shrink them after they are applied to the bottle.
Polylaminate capsules
These are constructed from a high quality, multi-layered material consisting of a polyethylene layer between two sheets of aluminum foil. They are available in various sizes for champagne or still wine capsules, in various diameters, lengths and tapers.
Polylaminate capsules are typically rolled on for still wine and either pleated/crimped or just crimped for champagne bottling applications.
Tin capsules
These are constructed from high quality tin. Painted and are applied by being rolled onto the bottle.
Aluminum/Foil capsules
These are constructed from a high quality aluminum material and are available in various diameters, lengths and tapers. Aluminum capsules are typically rolled pleated/crimped or just crimped for champagne bottling applications.
